About Selah

Ministering the Love of God Together for 30+ Years

Pastor Frank and Ellen Tamilio

When Selah Began

Selah began in 1994, when Tim Horton, a friend of Pastor Frank’s, invited him to host a live call-in show on WNRB in Boston. The friendship and the show went over splendidly with the audience. Pastor Frank was elated, to finally realize his dream of being a radio host.

Unique Sound

While Boston had a lot of good programming, Selah would take the airwaves by storm for its originality. Christian praise and worship music and devotional thoughts from Scripture were the center focus of this show. It simply wasn’t being done on any other station in quite this way. He was also blessed to have his wife alongside him, cheering him on, supporting him in every way.

Beyond Radio

Selah evolved over the years. No longer a live call-in show, Pastor Frank kept the same tone and overall mission Selah ran on the love labor of Pastor Frank, Ellen and several volunteers. As the audience grew, the ministry of Selah reached more people, on and off the air.

Ellen was shy about being heard on the radio, but once in a while the audience was treated to both voices. They held special functions and events, to celebrate all of what God had been doing in and through Selah. They had one mission together: to share the boundless love of God with listeners everywhere and they did.

Shifting Focus

After Ellen

Ellen stayed by Pastor Frank’s side in every ministry endeavor until her health declined and she ultimately “graduated,” (went Home to Heaven), on November 23, 2016. Since then, Judy Mabardy, first daughter to Pastor Frank and Ellen, has been carrying the administrative role and supporting Pastor Frank with production as well. Thanks to Judy and a handful of volunteers, Selah’s ministry continued on as it had.

Internet Radio

Now with Ellen in his heart, Pastor Frank continues the ministry of Selah, but times are changing. Rather than the traditional radio broadcast, Selah will soon be heard on the internet. In addition to listening via Spreaker and  Wordradio, you will soon be able to listen on other internet channels as well. Don’t worry. If computers and internet aren’t your thing, you may still listen to Selah on these stations and on Spreaker.

Pastor Frank attributes his success on radio to the faithfulness of God and his beloved wife Ellen of 56 years. Ellen Tamilio was his faithful partner in life and ministry until she went home to be with the Lord, November 23, 2016.
